About this Webinar:

One of the most important considerations for triathlon is nutrition and hydration pre-, during and post-race or training session.

As humans, we can only store limited amounts of glycogen (i.e. carbohydrate or CHO), which is the body's preferred fuel source. For example, a typical 160 pound male stores ~500g (2,000 calories) of glycogen in the muscle and another 125 grams (500 calories) in the liver plus another 30 g as glucose in the blood.

For endurance events like triathlon, it's critical to both start an event or training session with a full tank of CHO and then maintain glucose levels as much possible during the event to prevent bonking.

Hydration and considerations like electrolyte replacement are equally important.  

The purpose of this webinar is to discuss guidelines for training and racing nutrition and how to put together - and optimize - a nutrition plan.

Author of Full Time & Sub-Nine: Fitting Iron Distance Training into Everyday Life, David Glover, MSE, CSCS, dabbles extensively in endurance sports as an elite triathlete, coach, writer and race director.  Through his company, ENDURANCEWORKS, LLC, David has helped hundreds of individuals through coaching, seminars, clinics and eBooks. As an athlete, he has completed 26 Ironman-distance races including 5 overall wins and an 8:51 PR at the distance.  In 2007, he was inducted into the Vineman Hall of Fame.
